“Plastiglomerate” Sculpture. Paper pulp, cardboard, wood knot, and rock. 30” X 7” April 2026.
What is a plastiglomerate? Hybrid found in nature composed of rock sediment and created/made by a mixture of grains, minerals and other natural debris infused together with/by plastic. This phenomena is a result of plastic pollution from over consumption and improper waste management. Plastic fails to decompose and thus fuses with its environment.
I created this pseudo fossil to bring attention to plastic pollution sitting it next to a rock I found in BC with similar patterns to blend my sculpture with found material along with a wood knot giving it an environment in which is may be found.

“Plastic Flora” Sculpture • Cardboard, paper pulp and plastic remnants. 14” x 14” April 2026.
Repurposing recycled paper material doesn’t always involve complete organic matter. Envelops and fliers often include plastic film in which does not break down. Plastic remnants are found in the paper pulp to signify the issue with plastic as a material in advertisement and dispersement of information.
Enjoyed the water halo that formed from the drying process of this sculpture. Happy coincidences ✨
