Once upon a time, I got spotted by a Gurbani music teacher while in a public speaking contest. She assumed that I may have a hidden talent for singing too. She called me into her studio. I went. She asked me to sing the attached shabad. I started. She stopped me before I could even finish the first sentence. “It’s ok, beta”, she said obviously empathizing with me but clearly feeling disappointed at the same time. She didn’t ask me to sing again, and I quietly left. I was in Grade 3. And I’ve never tried to sing again. My friends and family are eternally grateful to that teacher for that blessing. 😀 😂😂😂😂
