The quality of your presence in the room is a direct reflection of the work you’ve done on yourself.
Full stop.
You can have the best modality.
The most beautiful offer.
The most carefully crafted session outline.
And if your nervous system is dysregulated,
your clients feel it.
They might not be able to name it.
But something in their body picks it up.
The slight tension in your voice when the session goes somewhere unexpected.
The way you rush past the uncomfortable silence.
The over-explaining when you feel uncertain.
The subtle need to fix them…. because their pain is activating something unresolved in you.
None of that is a technique problem.
It’s a you problem.
And I mean that with so much love.
Because I have been that practitioner.
Showing up with a full toolkit and a half-empty tank.
Holding space for everyone else’s nervous system while quietly abandoning my own.
The shift didn’t come from learning more.
It came from going deeper into myself.
Doing the work I was asking my clients to do.
Building actual safety in my own system so I could stop performing presence and start embodying it.
That’s when the room changes.
Not because you got better at your craft.
Because you got more honest with yourself.

Nervous system work is not one size fits all.
I have never worked with two clients exactly the same way, nor will I ever because every system is different, every body is different, and everyone’s life experience is different.
It’s getting to be a wild world out there with people saying they understand the nervous system and how to work with it when they really don’t.
Or that they know a certain modality or approach, and they do not.
Use discernment when choosing your practitioner and listening to those one size fits all approaches such as ‘do this one thing every day for xyz days or it won’t be effective’
‘Use this one tool to regulate yourself’
‘You must have a morning routine to be regulated’ lol- more on this on another post haha, but really- it’s getting wild what folks are saying.
