While it's common to joke about burnout at work, the reality is quite serious. It's a real condition with real consequences that impact mental health, fatigue, and everything else in your life.

As a union representing our workers' best interests, we focus heavily on creating workplaces with fair expectations, reasonable workloads, and proper break allocations.

Today marks the National Day of Mourning, a time to recognize those whose lives have been lost or permanently altered due to workplace injury or illness.

In 2024, Alberta had some of the highest rates of injury and fatality in the country, signaling a clear need for further safety initiatives to protect those on the job. CUPE Local 38 is committed to our role in the fight for safer workplaces that ensure every Canadian makes it home at the end of the day.

We encourage members to take a moment today to honour those who have lost their lives, and remind all workers that safety isn't optional — it's your right.

It’s no secret that Calgary is a great place to live…

The growth we’ve experienced has created new opportunities and even more need for people to help keep it that way.

We’re proud to represent the public workers who keep our city running smooth behind the scenes – and to welcome Calgarians old and new alongside them.
