🎨 En Plein Air Painting at Lougheed House!
Summer is truly for the artists, and that's why we're so excited to be offering a second free en plein air painting workshop with Calgary artist Carl White.
Join Carl in gardens at Lougheed House for an intermediate/advanced painting workshop exploring how shifting light and atmosphere create a conversation between past and present in this historic landscape.
This is a FREE workshop. Artists must provide their own supplies and are responsible for their own cleanup.

🪻Lady Lougheed loved her lilacs!🪻
Just as lilacs are a beloved part of Calgary today, these blossoming bushes have always been an integral part of Beaulieu Gardens - see this photo of Lady Isabella Hardisty Lougheed with her beautiful lilacs back in the early days of Lougheed House!
By the end of the 1800s, lilacs, which were originally native to easter Europe and parts of Asia, had become a common ornamental choice across Canada and were seen as symbols of beauty and innocence.
Learn all about the history of Lougheed House and Beaulieu Gardens at our next House Meets Garden Tour on Saturday, July 12!
