What to do in the 48 hours after you apply

Most IENs apply and wait. The ones who get hired do something different.

🔍 Find the nurse recruiter for that facility on LinkedIn (search the hospital name + "nurse recruiter")
💬 Send a short connection request: "Hi [Name], I recently applied for the RN role in [unit] at [facility]. I'd love to connect and express my interest directly."
🔔 Follow the organisation so you catch new postings early

Most applicants submit and disappear. This 15-minute step puts you on the recruiter's radar as a real person, not just an application number.

Where Canadian nursing jobs are actually posted (it's not Indeed)

Most IENs apply almost entirely through Indeed and miss the majority of roles.

Here's where to actually look:

✅ Your regional health authority's career page search "[province] health authority careers" and bookmark it
✅ Job Bank jobbank.gc.ca set a free email alert for "Registered Nurse" in your province
✅ HealthMatch BC healthmatchbc.org if you're open to BC, some roles include relocation support
✅ LinkedIn follow the health authorities you want to work for so roles hit your feed

Most hospital jobs are filled directly through these channels, often before they'd ever appear on a job board.
