Sharing what I attended yesterday - The Latino Folkloric Society's Mexican Festival, Calgary Mexifest, and it was an unforgettable experience. As Pinoy, I’m no stranger to lively festivals, but Mexifest gave me a true taste of Mexico’s vibrant culture right here in the heart of Downtown Calgary.

For a $20 entrance fee, I enjoyed thrilling luchadores wrestling matches, stunning performances by Amor A México, and the soulful tunes of Mariachi Internacional Sol Azteca. Every moment was filled with energy and passion.

And the food? Absolutely delicious! From tacos to tamales, every bite was a delightful journey through Mexico’s rich culinary heritage. I enjoyed the horchata de coco the most!

A word of advice: be prepared for the 30-degree Celsius heat-- if you're a Pinoy, there's real difference between the heat of Pinas and Calgary. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated—you'll want to dance to the lively music during the festival!

All in all, I'm grateful for the chance to soak in such a rich cultural experience. Mexifest is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of heritage, community, and the beauty of cultural diversity. ¡Viva México!
