Final ensaio de rua for Tuiuiti samba school before carnival officially started. I wasn't sure what to expect from a street rehearsal. No formal lighting or costumes, narrow uneven streets.. after being at the Marques de Sapucai Sambadrome for the official technical rehearsals, how would a street rehearsal compare? The answer, there is No Comparison. The rua was beyond my expectations. The feeling of being right next to the singers, dancers, drummers.. it was electric. The vibrations are running through my veins.. the passion of the performers and the community watching and following along the road.. will live forever in my memory. Probably the most powerful moment of my time in Rio. The bateria stopped in front of me, inches from my body. The drum break, the afro section, the orixas being called out. Canta Tuiuiti!
