Late Score Costs Calgary Expos Against Calgary Cardinals
Calgary Expos lost the lead late in an 11-4 defeat to Calgary Cardinals on Sunday. The game was tied at three with the Calgary Cardinals batting in the bottom of the fifth when Ashton Kostiuk doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
The Expos struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Calgary Cardinals, giving up 11 runs.
The Calgary Cardinals fired up the offense in the first inning. Caleum Eastman grounded out, scoring one run.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Expos tied things up at three. The Expos scored one run when Jeff Stewart singled.
Brady Johansen led things off on the hill for the Calgary Cardinals. The bulldog surrendered three runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out three.
Ethan Aspeslet-Asels led things off on the pitcher's mound for the Expos. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and nine runs while striking out three. Karstan Simmet-Iverson and Bennett Perrin entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Kyle Wilde, Karstan Simmet-Iverson, Ian Shay, James Wreford, Stewart, Owen Bromley, Aspeslet-Asels, and Joseph Ell all had one hit to lead the Calgary Expos.
Colby Tanton led the Calgary Cardinals with three hits in three at bats. The Calgary Cardinals stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Tanton led the way with three.
