Today's Spotlight: UNA expects no changes in members’ dues deducted by employers

Annual Audited Financial Statement

“After carefully assessing all financial information and legal obligations, UNA has again determined that all of its members’ union dues are spent on core activities.”

In accordance with the requirements of the Restoring Balance in Alberta’s Workplaces Act, previously known as Bill 32, United Nurses of Alberta has once again thoroughly reviewed all expenditures and has consulted legal counsel about the various entities to which the union provides money as well as all sources of income, including sources other than union dues.

After carefully assessing all financial information and legal obligations, UNA has again determined that all of its members’ union dues are spent on core activities.

As a result, UNA expects no changes in the amount of dues deducted from members’ pay.

The Indigenous Caucus would like to invite all interested UNA members to attend our upcoming caucus meeting.

The Indigenous Caucus promotes the inclusion of Indigenous Nurses within UNA in a safe and supportive environment, with a focus on advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.

This meeting is open to all UNA members who self-identify as Indigenous, as well as all UNA members who identify as Allies. If you are a Local Executive member, please feel free to share this invitation with your members.
