Today marks 6 months since I said goodbye to my best friend, my soul dog, our Louie.

Since then, life has kept moving the way it always does. Quietly, steadily, in waves - Grief and happiness somehow existing at the same time. Chapters closing, new ones opening, pieces of me growing through it all.

Losing Lou also opened doors I never expected. I started a new career in real estate, and honestly, I’m not sure I would’ve fully been able to step into this chapter if Lou was still here and needed me the way he did in his final season.

That truth brings both gratitude and sadness. I think sometimes that’s just what healing looks like. You keep going while carrying the love with you.

It’s not time for another dog yet. One day. But if you’ve been thinking about getting a dog or pet, do it. They change your life in the best possible way.
