The end of an era was celebrated today as we gathered to reflect on what this space has been able to provide for thousands of people who have walked through our doors.
On January 9, 2026 this space will no longer be but the magic that was co-created here cannot be contained within 4 walls. Rather each of us will go out to spread the positive movement of into the next era.
Words cannot express the sentiment and gravity of today and for the last 20 years. So we’ll leave it with the last coaching words from Coach Brett, KEEP THE CHALK IN THE BUCKET! 😉

Dear members, Rhiannon and I have been trying to come up with something that we could offer to you all as a keepsake of your time at CFC.  Our discussions always led us back to our roots, to the foundation that we established and used to build CrossFit Calgary.  As you have all relayed, CrossFit Calgary is not just our gym, it is our community.  It is a community that was built with purpose and it is a purpose that each of you has embraced and grown.  Our impact is absolutely the product of each of you. The beauty of our experience is simply a reflection of our values and the mission that we created.  Our values were posted proudly at the entrance to our gym ( , Believe in people, Cultivate knowledge, Foster community and Compete to be better) and our mission displayed in large letters across our wall inside, LIFTING OURSELVES AND ONE ANOTHER.  For those that would like, we have created the poster shown on our IG post. There is also a sample at CFC.  It will be for sale on the kiosk at CFC until the end of our social on the 20th. Once the orders are in we will send to print and arrange for a pick-up and instructions once complete.

Friends of CrossFit Calgary, we are creating a memory book for Brett. Pictures and messages from members (past and present). If you would like to submit a message or picture for inclusion, please email to me at [email protected]. Messages should be one or two lines. Could be a special memory or a thank you. You would be identified by your first name and last initial unless you request anonymity. Our timeline is short, so please submit by Thursday, November 27th. Please feel free to share this info with anyone who should be included.
