Whether you're planning camping trips, brewery patios, hiking trails, or just want a dog who listens when you call them, our training classes can help build the skills and confidence you both need. 🐾☀️

From puppy foundations and socialization to confidence building and support for reactive or fearful dogs, our trainers are here to help set you and your dog up for success.

June is Foster a Pet Month! Foster parents are essential for shelters like ours to continue supporting every animal and helping with any situation that needs it 🐾🩷!

We are currently recruiting members for our Crisis Care Foster Network — a specialized, dedicated foster pool reserved specifically for animals entering these emergency support programs.

This is not traditional fostering.

This is crisis-response fostering.

Members of this network make the intentional choice to reserve space in their homes for urgent placements tied to real human emergencies. These fosters understand that when the call comes, a family may be in immediate crisis and an animal may need safe placement that City of Calgary – Your Local Government parents become part of a life-saving bridge between crisis and stability.

We are planning to build an inclusive playground at its centre so that children and families visiting the facility can play, connect, and feel fully welcomed in the space. In 2025, our Humane Education and Outreach programs reached 26,357 people, empowering our community with knowledge to care for animals responsibly. This space will extend the organization’s mission of compassion beyond animal care, creating an environment where every visitor can feel included, engaged, and part of the community experience.
