The high developer levels in some box dyes can over-process and damage hair, leading to dryness, brittleness, and breakage. Or even extreme like my picture of a gal who wants to be blonde at whatever cost.... the cost of having much shorter hair and tons of masks to nourish that hair back to healthy.

Damage Control:
Salons can assess hair damage and use appropriate products to minimize damage during the coloring process.

People ask me all the time for women with long hair, how often they should be getting trims.

I say when you pass your hand through your hair and it tangles n pulls near the bottom, that's your cue!

Spit ends start and fork out, making it more tangly and knotted.
If we catch them early and cut off those ends,
1. It promotes hair growth
2. Prevents split ends to keep going up making your hair look unhealthy and dull.
