Start by physically cleaning the item with soap, water, or a proper fabric or wood cleaner depending on the material.

Next, place the object near sunlight or moonlight for a few hours to naturally clear stagnant energy. You can also use smoke from sage, cedar, sweetgrass, or incense by lightly passing it around the item with intention. Some people like to add sound cleansing using a bell, singing bowl, or soft music to shift the atmosphere.
