the aurora borealis💖
something that’s been on my bucket list for a very long time has officially been crossed off early this morning and the excitement is real!
I’ve always seen beautiful photos and videos taken of these lights dancing in the sky and dreamed about how unreal it would be to see in real life, but I’ve never lived anywhere they’ve been visible.. until this past year when I moved out west.
over the last few months I have tried to catch them a couple times but it always ended in a failed attempt by me or no visibility from extreme cloud coverage. I had pretty much given up chasing for this year as the typical season is October to March, BUT this morning I couldn’t sleep so I was keeping an eye on my Aurora app to see what was going on.
I live in a city so chances of me getting a good show was slim, but I decided to jump in the truck and trust that the 12% chance it said I could see them in Canmore was correct and boy did they not disappoint.

what an absolute beautiful way to go into this new month, this new moon. I am cheesin so hard that I got to experiance such peace & beauty! I definitely did not expect to capture this beautiful event my first season trying & with so many horrible things going on in the world around us this brought tears to my eyes that in a world so ugly it can still be so incredibly beautiful.
