It is very humbling to remember that Jesus came to call sinners to himself — not people who think they are good enough on their own merit. If Jesus has called us to follow him, that means we are sick and need to be healed. In what ways has Jesus healed you and is continuing to heal you? Which seasons of your life have shown God’s mercy to be evident? Write down your redemption story. Ask God for the courage to share your story. Pray that it will guide others to the Great Physician and Healer of our souls.

Proverbs 31:31: Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate

The entirety of our Christian faith hinges on the resurrection of Christ. On the cross is where our Lord, Savior, and King is enthroned. On the cross he triumphantly defeats the forces of evil on behalf of all humanity. The empty tomb proves Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and evil. He gives all people full access to God so that anyone who places their trust in Christ will live with God forever. Pray through Psalm 103. Give thanks to God for giving us new birth into everlasting life and a hope that will never fade away.

Resurrection Sunday is almost here. May your journey with Christ of Easter preparation continue on throughout the year. Make time to receive and experience the abundant joy Jesus’ presence brings to your life. Receive and experience this joy especially through hardships and times of strife. Stand firm on the promises he has given you as you follow his lead, especially when you are uncertain about where you are going. Rejoice in the many treasures in heaven Jesus has for you. Rejoice especially as you glimpse his glory in celebration with the body of Christ in proclaiming, “He is risen! He is risen indeed!”

Jesus is a light for all people. There is no “if, and, but” argument to be made. No, “What about them?” question to be asked. Every person on earth has turned to their own way. And Jesus bore each person’s sin and its punishment of death. We can often get caught up in what is different between us and others, whether neighbors, cities, states, nations, or cultures. What if today, we got caught up in Jesus and rejoiced in the One who truly brings us together? Jesus has done it all. Jesus redeemed each of us from our sin, whoever we may be. What magnificent freedom we experience when we say “yes” back to Jesus’ “yes”! Lord, please help me to join you in proclaiming freedom from our sins through Jesus Christ. May the way I treat each neighbor, stranger, and friend be an echo of your love for them. Amen.
