During a Focus group discussion on Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) with Community members in Dadangoro, Katsina state, we asked participants a question.

“What are the gaps you have in the health facility in your community?” Or simply put “What’s missing in your community health facility?”

As an organization, we strongly believe in the regular and proper use of community healthcare facilities to boost the health and wellness status of community members. However, we understand that most smaller communities tend to favor the use of local remedies for treatments, opposed to modern day medicines and treatment. To get to the root of the matter, we asked the locals of dadangoro, and now we’re asking you,

"Menene ke rasa a cibiyar kiwon lafiya a unguwarku?".

There's a virus slowly penetrating Nigeria again called the Monkey Pox virus. Here's what you should know to stay safe at all times 👇

🔍 What Causes Monkeypox?

From Animals: Monkeypox can spread from animals like rats and monkeys to people. This can happen if you touch these animals or their blood, skin, or meat.
From People: It can also spread from person to person. This happens if you touch someone with Monkeypox, or their clothes and bedding.
🛡️ How to Stay Safe:

Avoid Wild Animals: Don’t touch wild animals, especially if they look sick.

Wash Your Hands: Keep your hands clean by washing them often with soap and water.

Wear Protection: Use gloves and masks if you are caring for someone with Monkeypox.

Stay Apart: If someone has Monkeypox, keep them away from others until they get better.

Get Vaccinated: Ask a doctor about vaccines that can protect you from Monkeypox.

Spread the Word: Share this information with friends and family so everyone knows how to stay safe.

👩‍⚕️ Look Out for These Signs:

Fever (feeling very hot)
Skin rash with blisters
Swollen areas around the neck, armpits, or groin
Feeling tired and achy

AICD advises all who develop these signs to go to their healthcare provider right away, and confirm their status.
