We had the incredible opportunity to visit the Niagara EMS Dispatch Centre, where we celebrated a truly historic milestone. Niagara EMS is the first EMS service in Canada to implement Languages in Motion's live interpreter app for frontline paramedics, along with an integrated system that gives their emergency communications centre instant access to on-demand interpreters.

Joel Visser, Superintendent Supervisor, welcomed us into their operations centre, giving us a behind-the-scenes tour of the dispatch centre. We had the opportunity to speak with members of the team about their daily work, the challenges they face, and the incredible progress being made in emergency care. We also visited their 24/7 emergency communications centre, where we saw firsthand how dispatchers respond to emergency calls around the clock. Finally, we were invited into the ambulance garage, where we explored the advanced equipment paramedics use to provide life-saving care in the field.

We left deeply impressed by how seamlessly everything works together. The professionalism, teamwork, technology, and dedication of every person we met were truly inspiring.

Paramedics are everyday heroes. They make critical decisions in life's most urgent moments, and we are honoured that our work helps support theirs.
Providing instant access to interpreters during emergencies means patients and paramedics can understand one another when every second matters. In a multicultural country like Canada, communication should never be a barrier to receiving life-saving care.
