Finally a 3 hr window to do some general maintenance on the 3 Steinway Ds for the final day of semi finals. Over the past 3-4 days the pianos are not only used for the concerts but also for master classes and rehearsals. I normally only get 10 mins to check tuning and if I’m lucky maybe 15 if we can hold house.

43 years of buildup on the edges of a well used Steinway B key, Middle C to be exact before and after cleaning. Yuck 🤢
