Hello everyone, we've had a few inquiries asking how Corona virus will affect SWSD2020. Fortunately, there are no cases of Covid19 in Alberta as yet, but of course this situation is very fluid. What we can tell you is that we will be employing evidence-informed, best practices to keep everyone safe. Also we're lucky that social workers happen to be global experts in dealing with issues like this!
President of IFSW, Silvana Martínez visits Blackfoot Crossing, an historical park on the Siksika 146 Indian reserve in Alberta, Canada. This crossing of the Bow River was traditionally a bison-hunting and gathering place for the Siksika people and their allies in the Blackfoot Confederacy.
