Our SANDBOX SESSIONS Residency is back to welcome in a new cohort this summer. We are looking for 4-5 creatives currently developing a project that could benefit from focused time, connection, and professional space.

This solo 4-week residency is perfect for writers, illustrators, filmmakers, editors and other digital or paper based desk work.

What are those metal structures outside cSPACE MARDA LOOP on the ARTPARK?

The sculptural public art installations inside the ARTCUBES on the south lawn, were a part of the The 20/20 Wavelength Project. This milestone moment began as a way to engage online and in person neighbourhoods as part of Alberta Culture Days, during the height of the global COVID-19 Pandemic.

This project captured pandemic-related reflections, community spirit, and resilience through art as an answer to the question “What Matters Now.” It included online and in-person components, featuring local artists and community submissions. An exhibition was held from late September through October 2020 in the cSPACE MARDA LOOP hallway galleries. The final phase of this project was the ARTCUBES. These large scale animal designs were cut from sheet metal and hung inside the ARTCUBES. The 20/20 Wavelength Project was our way to focus a creative light on the introspection we saw all around us, and foster a connection with the community through the isolating year that was 2020.
