CPAWS Southern Alberta

In case you missed it, YourAlberta (Government of Alberta) is currently accepting input for landscape-level planning in the and Ghost regions of 🌲

This plan will be in effect for *at least* 10 years and will guide how land management decisions in these regions are made.

Right now, you have the opportunity to guide the vision and outcomes of the plan through an online survey, or by email ([email protected]) until June 5.

We *cannot* overstate how important this region is for:

🐻 Wildlife and biodiversity
🏕️ Tourism and recreation industry
⛰️Our headwaters

What goes into this plan matters for ALL Albertans.

Vital for life on the prairie, and beloved by many Albertans, Napi-tahtaa — Napi’s River — is increasingly under strain as a result of overuse and abuse, as well as industrial resource extraction like clearcut logging in the and headwaters region ⛰️

CPAWS Southern Alberta's Conservation Science & Program Manager Josh Killeen will explore the threats facing Napi’s River (the ), the aquatic species-at-risk who call it home, like our native trout, and how we might better steward these sacred lands and waters.
