Over 500 of you have already sent letters opposing the Silvertip Gondola on Mount Lady MacDonald in the since we posted our letter last week β thank you! π
As a reminder, the Silvertip Gondola proposal is attempting to use the All-Seasons Resort Act to remove land from the Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park in order to enable commercial development that would otherwise not be permitted within an Alberta Park.
Wildland Provincial Parks exist to conserve large, undeveloped landscapes that support , ecological integrity, and low-impact recreation β°οΈ
Moreover, the Gondola would fall within the Silvertip Wildlife Corridor, which supports movement for grizzly bears, cougars, bighorn sheep, and other wildlife moving through the Bow Valley. Increasing year-round human activity and infrastructure in this area would further reduce habitat integrity and wildlife connectivity in an already heavily developed landscape.
If you have a chance, please take a moment today to share this action with friends, family, colleagues or others who might not know that our Wildland Parks β and the wildlife who call them home β need our voice.
