COVID EXCUSES - Are you dropping the ball?

Here is an email I had to write to several businesses recently. I have been doing some renovations and required several estimates. Unfortunately, here's the current Covid19 reality.

Here's the letter:

"I'm sorry I need to write this to you. I care about small businesses in this pandemic and hope you can fix the process so you don't lose further clients. Here are some thoughts to consider as feedback from a business coach that specializes in helping companies grow.

In times such as we have, communication can be difficult. I've been attempting to get products from several companies. You would be curious to know how your competitors are responding.

- 29% are responding with good service (like normal 1-2 hours)

- 14% are responding within a reasonable time frame (4 hours)

- 57% never responded or dropped the ball (communication lines are broken)

I wish you success in the future."

It's sad but true. businesses are struggling with the pandemic upheaval. Unfortunately, consumers still require acceptable service #. We're not unreasonable in our expectations but we're not going to hunt a vendor down to get our questions answered or place an order. Some of your competitors still offer great service even though they're working from home.
