We at Eco Lighting would like to sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration surrounding our recent Stampede BBQ event. What was meant to be a small, RSVP-only gathering quickly turned into something much larger than anticipated, and we deeply regret the inconvenience this caused.

The BBQ was a free event, but due to space and food limitations, it was open by RSVP only. We made 200 tickets available online, and they were claimed in less than 20 minutes. The registration link was removed once we reached capacity. We recognize that we could have done more to ensure all public-facing promotions reflected this clearly — and we take full responsibility for not catching that sooner.

To make matters worse, well-meaning individuals shared and reposted the event on various Stampede event listings, unintentionally misrepresenting it as an open, no-registration-needed event — all without our knowledge or approval.
As a result, we saw a far larger turnout than we were equipped to handle. In fairness to those who had registered properly, we prioritized honoring their tickets. However, we wanted to do our best to make the situation right — we made an extra Costco run and invited those without tickets to return at 1:00 PM. In the end, we were able to serve over 300 people, and those who came back later were kind, understanding, and genuinely appreciated the complimentary BBQ.

That said, we were unprepared for the scale of the turnout and are saddened that some of our team members were met with rudeness and hostility. While we take full responsibility for the miscommunication, we must emphasize that no one — staff or guest — should be subjected to aggressive or disrespectful behavior. Like many public-facing organizations, we expect and promote respectful interactions at all times.

To everyone affected by this experience, we are truly sorry.
