Today at Proper Motor Works.

We have a 2001 Toyota Camry with a fault code P1135 - Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit. Another mechanic shop has replaced the oxygen sensor.

With further testing we found the sensor to have a good power signal and is pulling amperage as the ECM is ground the circuit properly. However the resistance of the heater circuit is 15 ohms over specifications and the amperage is too low.

The previous shop had missed that in 2001, Toyota had made all of their vehicles California Emissions compliant and installed the wrong oxygen sensor.

We've got an OEM Denso sensor installed that has the correct resistance and no longer sets the P1135 fault.

🎅 Official Sleigh-Status Update from Proper Motor Works! 🛷💨

Santa dropped off the big red sleigh this morning for some last-minute turbocharger tuning and a reindeer-power inspection. Since we’re the only shop in town he trusts with his high-performance gear, we’re going all-in to get him back in the air!

To celebrate a job well done, our team is heading home to enjoy some milk and cookies (and maybe a nap).
