Canorient Christian Association - Calgary Chapter

The Calgary Canorient members and guests celebrated this wonderful season of Christmas yesterday, Sunday, December 8 with a Christmas Party for all ages.

With almost 100 people in attendance, we had a warm, cozy hall with festive decorations and homemade Christmas sweets upon arrival. Each box of sweets had some Rose Cookies, Almond Toffees, Milk Creme, Baath Cake and Krinkle Cookies for the children. The festivities for the afternoon began with the Master of Ceremony, Arnold D'Costa, welcoming the guests and announcing the Nativity Play.

After the Nativity Play, we prepared for Santa's arrival with some loud Christmas caroling with lively musical accompaniment. We didn't have to sing too many songs, as Santa arrived on time, even though he had come all the way from the North Pole. Santa and his elf helpers visited the guests and gave sweets to all the children. You could see the smiling faces of the children as they walked up to Santa to accept their presents. Thank you to our jolly and fun-loving Santa for doing an amazing job with the kids and bringing smiles to all our faces.

After Santa left, our party continued with dancing and music from our DJ, David. We even got a Line Dancing lesson to Brenda Lee's Rockin Around the Christmas Tree while we waited for dinner. After a message from Joe Almeida and Grace, a fabulous dinner was served followed by jalebis for dessert and tea. Thank you to everyone who helped with dinner, selling coupons and the bartenders. During the evening, door prizes were handed out - thank you to those that kindly donated door prizes. Children also enjoyed the crafts and created Christmas cards with stamps and stickers.

Sadly, the fun-filled evening came to an end too soon, but it was wonderful to note that adults and children enjoyed themselves thoroughly. A huge thank you to everyone for making this event possible and a smashing success! For those who were not able to attend, we missed you.
