"𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗲𝘀" - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆!

Every photograph tells a story. Together, these tell ours.

This year, the Calgary Marathi Association had the privilege of representing India at the Calgary Stampede Parade for the fifth consecutive year, alongside our friends from the Rajasthani and Odia communities. Together, we celebrated the true spirit of Unity in Diversity, showcasing the traditions, music, and energy that make India's cultural tapestry so vibrant.

Making its debut was our first-ever custom-built 12-foot 3D parade float, From the Himalayas to the Rockies.

At first glance, India and Canada may seem worlds apart. But look a little closer, and you'll find remarkable similarities. Both are home to majestic mountain ranges that define their landscapes. Both share a deep passion for hockey: field hockey in India and ice hockey in Canada. And above all, both are places where community, resilience, and pride run deep.

Our float celebrated those connections. A Royal Bengal Tiger sporting a cowboy hat and hockey jersey faced off against a Canadian Beaver proudly wearing a Maharashtrian pheta and Indian colours; a reminder that while our cultures may be different, they are also wonderfully "same-same."

Leading the way was the unmistakable sound of Dhol Tasha, accompanied by the vibrant Lezim folk dance, bringing the spirit of Maharashtra to the streets of Calgary. Behind every beat, every step, and every smile stood months of planning, practice, and the dedication of more than a hundred volunteers determined to share a piece of their heritage with our adopted home.

Today, we present a collection of photographs that best captures the colour, joy, pride, and camaraderie of an unforgettable day. These are the moments that remind us why we do this: to celebrate where we come from, and also celebrate the life we've built together here in Canada.

Thank you to everyone who marched with us, volunteered behind the scenes, cheered from the sidewalks, and supported us along the way. We hope these images make you as proud as they make us.

With Carrom and Cricket complete, the leaderboard is beginning to take shape.

Just one point separates first and second place, and with Badminton and Table Tennis still to come, every match counts.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the CMA Inter Association Cup's Super 6 Cricket Tournament such a fantastic success. Five teams from five community associations came together for a day filled with exciting matches, sportsmanship, and friendly competition.

This tournament was about much more than cricket. It was another opportunity for Calgary's community associations to come together, compete with pride, and strengthen the friendships that make our city so special.
