Meet Katie, Psychologist and Director of Child, Youth and Family Supports at INDIGROW.
Katie works with individuals, children, youth, and families, including children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Her approach is grounded in transparency, respect, and safety, creating a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to be themselves.
Katie also believes that therapy, especially with children, can be playful, engaging, and even fun.
While Katie is not currently accepting new clients, head to the link in bio to meet the rest of our team!

Experiences like rejection, exclusion, or heartbreak activate some of the same brain networks involved in physical pain. Both experiences activate the Anterior Cingulate Cortex (ACC) which sits near the centre of the brain and helps us determine how distressing something feels, whether a situation requires action, and whether a threat is significant. The same way the ACC helps us take our hand off of a burning stove, it is also linked to why social pain can actually “hurt”, telling us “This matters. Something is wrong”.

Your brain and body are capable of healing, not just coping.
Through art and play, children show us what they’re still learning to say. That's why we always meet children where they are at - joining them on the floor, in the game, in the sandtray and in their imagination.

We feel honoured to spend our workdays alongside such compassionate, intentional, and authentic people. So much gratitude for our INDIGROW team.
What can look small on the surface is often carrying something much bigger underneath and that context, environment, and support matter more than we realize.
We see you in the in-between moments too.

The goal isn’t to erase the past, it’s to change how it lives inside you. Our brain-based therapy approaches help our clients do just that.
