Look at this beautiful face! Since coming into foster care in January 2026, Tika is transforming into the dog she was meant to be. Initially, she was reactive to other dogs while on leash. Now she is in a foster home with other dogs and is doing well. She likes her walks, but likes hanging out at home with her humans even more. Truly laid back, Tika is the most relaxed dog while in the home or yard where she feels safe. She loves to lay around and be petted. She has not experienced any adjustment issues since leaving the home of relatives after her owner died. She is a gentle giant at 85 pounds and is a seven year old Shepherd Lab mix. She has not been spayed. She is a smart girl who would make a loyal relaxing companion.

Valentine's Day is magical at ElderDog Calgary: we have found a foster home for Tika! We will still be looking for her forever love, but for now, she is adjusting to a new foster and settling in.
