We all strive for longevity—how to live longer, feel stronger, stay sharp. But on my recent visit home, I had a moment that really made me reflect on what it actually looks like.
My grandniece just turned one. She’s wobbling through the world, learning how to balance, taking those first uncertain steps. And in the same breath, I watched my grandpa—who will turn 103 next month—working daily to maintain his balance. It was like life handing me a mirror—one just beginning, one still holding strong with myself right in the middle.
At 103, he still insists on working outside when he can—planting his corn, tending the homestead, walking his land. And when the weather keeps him in, you’ll find him riding his Airdyne bike.
I asked him, “Where do you find the motivation to keep moving like this?”
He gave me his classic glare and replied,
“Well... how else would I be able to do what I do?”
This, from a man who windsurfed into his late 80s and skied for the last time at 98.
The key to longevity? Movement. Muscle. And maybe a little farm-boy stubborness

📢 Signs Your Liver Needs Support📢
Feeling tired, having digestive issues, or experiencing skin breakouts? Your liver might be calling for help! 💚
Key Signals You Shouldn’t Ignore:
- Fatigue and Sluggishness: The liver plays a key role in metabolism and energy production. If it’s overloaded, you might feel constant fatigue.
- Digestive Problems: A healthy liver aids in proper digestion, and its overload can lead to nausea and other issues.
- Skin Problems: Your skin reflects your liver’s health. If the liver can’t handle toxins, it may result in breakouts and acne.
- Waking Up at Night: Frequently waking up between 2 and 4 AM can be linked to liver activity, which is most active at this time.
- Weight Issues and Cravings: Difficulty losing weight and frequent sugar cravings can be related to liver function issues.
How to Support Your Liver Health:
1. Natural Detox Foods: Include artichokes, beets, and turmeric in your diet. These foods support the liver’s detox functions.
2. Physical Activity: Regular exercise improves blood circulation, helping the liver function more effectively.
3. Avoid Alcohol and Toxins: Reduce alcohol consumption and avoid exposure to household chemicals that can burden your liver.
4. Gut Health: Probiotics and dietary fibers help maintain healthy gut flora, easing the liver’s workload.
5. Sleep and Rest: Quality sleep is vital for liver recovery. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
🔍 Listen to your body and take care of your liver with love and attention. Making small lifestyle changes can significantly improve your well-being and overall health!
