Let's play a little game. 🎮
We're going to describe a dance style and you guess what it is in the comments.
No cheating by scrolling other comments first! 😄
Style #1: Known for its sharp, isolated movements, strong connection to rhythm and music, and roots in 1970s street culture.
Style #2: Characterized by fluid, flowing movements, often performed barefoot, with an emphasis on storytelling and raw emotional expression.
Style #3: Defined by precise footwork, turned-out positions, and is often considered the foundation for many other dance styles.
Drop your guesses below! 👇
We'll confirm the answers in the next post!

Something we've been thinking about during this quieter stretch: rest is not the opposite of progress. It's part of it. 🌿
We spend so much of the season talking about pushing through, showing up, working hard.
And all of that matters.
But growth doesn't only happen in the studio.
Sometimes it happens in the in-between, when the body and mind get a chance to absorb everything they've learned without the pressure of the next class or the next combination.
If your dancer has been doing absolutely nothing dance-related this summer, swimming, biking, sleeping in, that's not falling behind. That's exactly what this time is for.
They'll come back in the fall and you might be surprised at what clicks. Sometimes the break is where the breakthrough quietly happens. 💛

We keep coming back to these recital photos and honestly, we don't think we'll ever get tired of them. 🎭💛
There's something about the combination of nerves, excitement, and pure joy on a dancer's face right before or after they perform that just gets us every time.
These moments are the whole reason we do this.
If you have a recital photo (any year, any age, any style) that makes you smile, share it with us!
We love seeing these throughout the summer.

"Dancers are the athletes of God." — Albert Einstein 🤍
We love this one because it captures something that often gets overlooked.
Dance is art, yes. But it is also, undeniably, athletic.
The strength it takes to hold an arabesque.
The stamina to get through a full combination without losing your breath.
The coordination, the balance, the sheer physical control.
Dancers train their bodies with the same dedication as any other athlete, they just happen to make it look beautiful while they do it.
So to every dancer taking a well-earned break this summer: you've earned this rest just as much as any athlete in off-season training.
Recharge those muscles.
We'll see you when you're ready. 💪
