Canela didn’t have a good start in life. But every day, she’s proving that love, patience, and a little reassurance can work wonders. 💛

This sweet chihuahua is timid but trying. She’s learning to trust – and that’s a huge deal for a girl who once wasn’t sure if her next meal would come. We’re working hard to show her she’ll always have food, and she’s slowly starting to believe it.

🍖 The honest truth: Canela does resource guard her food (and sometimes her beloved ball). But with gentle reassurance, she’s already getting better. She just needs someone who won’t give up on her.

She already knows “sit,” walks beautifully on a leash, and is one smart little cookie. 🍪

Canela LOVES her ball – like, full-on baseball-fan-level love. She also lives for belly scratches, treats, walks, and curling up for naps with her favorite humans.
