The Rusty Saw

A baby stool made for a client at work (my day job)!One of our clients recently had his first baby and we wanted to make something truly special for him. He mentioned over a dinner that he had a stool when he was little that he would carry around with him everywhere he went. So, we decided to make a stool with a message wood-burnt by hand and included the name of his baby girl along with her height and weight similar to what he had ! When we presented the gift to him , he was extremely happy and emotional. We love when little projects bring so much joy to families and I think this will be a go-to gift to any other clients that are expecting in the future. Mortises cut and coffee table top pieces cut to size! The top will be biscuit-jointed and glued, hand-planed for a square finish and then stained in a Jacobean and Ebony Mix! Oh and some polyurethane for protection. Can’t wait to show you guys the final product! @ Calgary, Alberta

Mountain Range completed! This art piece was a first for us and we’re extremely happy with how it turned out. Projects like these is what makes woodworking fun, and truly makes you appreciate that woodworking can be a fun hobby rather than a gruelling job . We hope you enjoy this piece!
