Rooks And Raven

This summer has been a bit of a whirlwind, but I did manage to take two studio classes (running at the same time, meaning I was throwing 4 days a week!) I was throwing 3 different clay bodies - 2 high fire (cone 10) and 1 low fire (cone 6). I’m quite pleased at how these turned out and feel that with the time I’ve spent at the wheel and mark making, I’ve started to find my voice in this medium.

New forms (the original colour and the bisque fired work)… these will get glazed and fired this week and turn out much darker!

Somehow my first official day of unemployment has landed me in a second wheel throwing class, and this time, I’m throwing with the clay affectionately known as “baby poo”… though it fires to a wonderful dark purple colour 💜

Glazing day! Bisque fired pieces are out and glazed, now for the long wait for them to get fired and come back to me 😂
