Calgary Healing Acupuncture

It's all about compassion, baby!! This is Kwan Yin, the Chinese Goddess of Compassion and Mercy. If I had to choose a word to represent the trajectory of my soul the past decade it woujd be COMPASSION.
Growing into a deeper compassion for others - and I don't just mean the person it's easy to feel compassion for. It's natural to feel it towards loved ones in pain, or children, or likeable/lovable people, or peeps whose life circumstance you understand.
That's where it starts. Then you find yourself deepening into an open-heartedness you didn't know you were capable of. The badass 'loving-kindness' the Dalai Lama talks about. When you actually feel your heart soften and there is a tenderness towards those who may have wronged you, people who have hurt others, those who aren't as easy to like or love, and peeps who have beliefs or views that don't jive with yours.
The final layer for me is about self-compassion and I'm still working on that.....

Such a sweet memory of my internship in China❤️ This was at one of the hospital's satelllite clinics. A grandmother would carry her grandson in a basket to bring him for acupuncture every week. Through a translator we were able to hear how much progress the baby had made after starting acupuncture treatments! He seemed quite pleased with the whole experience!!

Happy LOVE day! ♥️ As we all know, this month is all about the heart. In Chinese medicine however, the heart is much more than just a blood-pumping organ. The heart houses something called Shen, which encompasses the mind, memory, consciousness, and spirit. The heart is a deeply spiritual and intuitive organ, which explains the origin of some common sayings like “I know it in my heart.” We see that Shen shows up in the eyes- it’s like a vitality or a spark showing emotional and mental well-being. ✨
So how do you boost your Shen? Joy and connection. Eat what brings you joy- foods prepared with love and in the company of those you love. 🤗 And give yourself time and space to connect- to your sense of purpose, to friends and family, to the divine. These practices honour your heart and the Shen within. 🧘🏼‍♀️
