anyone can build their own apps now. here’s proof 👇
a former coworker asked me one thing:
“can I get YouTube Music in its own window, not stuck in a browser tab?”
I’d never shipped a Mac app in my life.
I said “challenge accepted” anyway 😅
what followed was a full-on problem-solving rabbit hole:
🎵 turning a browser tab into a REAL app window
🔐 fixing a Google login that kept breaking
🖥️ giving it its own Cmd+Tab identity + icon (way harder than it sounds)
🚪 locking it to one focused window
⚡ + a dozen “but what if…?” edge cases
every wall became a puzzle.
and honestly? building with Claude Code is genuinely FUN! It let me flex creativity, debugging, and a kind of persistence I didn’t know I had.

26% of companies now have a Chief AI Officer.
Two years ago, it was 11%.
The race is real - and it should be happening.
But 78% of orgs using AI still can’t prove the ROI.
The tools aren’t the problem.
The translation layer is.
Someone has to move the people.
Redesign the processes.
Make sure the strategy doesn’t die
between the boardroom and the front line.
It’s less of a tech job
And more of an innovation job.
The CINO doesn’t compete with the CAIO.
It’s the layer that makes the CAIO’s work actually land.

Confession: I’ve been hiding behind “random” for months 🫣
Hey fellow wandering souls! Today’s vulnerability is about realizing you’ve been playing it safe in the most boring way possible.
Me introducing my Substack: “Hi, I write about… uh… random references?” I’ll let you peruse one of the slides to see the common reaction
Here’s the thing about generic: It feels safe, like wearing black, safe, goes with everything and it’s the classic. You won’t offend the fashion police, but you probably won’t be remembered either.
The best names (at least in this case) aren’t clever. They’re honest. When someone drops an anime reference or quotes something familiar, you think: “Wait, where’s that from?”
Intermission: Shoutout to my incredible wife who encourages me to lean into this beautiful madness. Thank you for letting me engage my creativity in ways I never thought possible. I love you more than my love for connecting (hopeless) anime references to Shakespeare.
Enter: WWTF? Same curious mind, same randomness. Just finally owning who I’ve always been instead of hiding behind safe, forgettable words.
Welcome to the beautiful madness, fellow curious minds!
