Returning client upgraded all 10 fans, and snagged a vertical GPU mount to display his new beautiful RTX 5080😎

After a week's worth of diagnosing... and ever evasive event viewer logs, we finally repaired a 4-year-old PC that would not stop restarting within 15 minutes of being powered on.

The error message below showed up ONLY after we changed out the graphics card (from a 3070 to a 5060ti):

"A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 0"

The Ryzen 7 5800x was the culprit, and after changing to a brand new 5800XT the PC has been stable for 48+ hours. The client didn't need to spend more than the cost of the new CPU, and can happily enjoy another several years with their build.

Phew 😩

Diagnostics log if you were curious:
- BIOS version/settings/DOCP had no effect
- RAM speed/voltage/slot-configuration had no effect, swapping too
- Swapped motherboard
- Reimaged Windows completely from USB media, even swapped from Home -> Pro
- Swapped graphics card -> BINGO finally the a relevant error event log shows up

be quiet! cases looking good these days, high quality and lots of thoughtful design decisions, including a highly adjustable anti-sag brace for your gpu :)

Fishbowl/all glass seems to be the name of game lately, can't go wrong with a focus on airflow and ARGB :)
