Calgary is a vibrant, livable city and a place of limitless opportunities – regardless of where you come from. We spoke to Boban Stojanovic, a Serbian-born 2SLGBTQI+ and newcomer activist about how he’s built his life and career in the Blue Sky City. “I felt like a Calgarian when I realized how multicultural both the city and country is. Here, because there are so many different cultures, I didn’t feel like I had to fit into ‘one way’ of being a Canadian, and realized there was no one way of being a ‘pure Canadian.’” - Boban Stojanovic, Vice President, Vulnerable Population Services at the Centre for Newcomers

In recent years, Calgary has become a hotspot for interprovincial and international migration. Record population growth is fueling increased diversity and multiculturalism, positioning the city to become a home for bright minds and a wide array of talent.
