The Little General mini-train attended the Muscatine County Fair parade held in West Liberty, Iowa on July 12!

The beloved mini-train delighted parade-goers, and CPKC volunteers shared this reminder: tracks are for trains only. Thank you to City of West Liberty Mayor Pro Tem, Cara McFerren, Council member-at-large, for helping us raise awareness for rail safety!

Midwest meets the prairies.

We were pleased to welcome Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas to our global corporate headquarters in Calgary, Alta., for a look inside our employee training facility and the railway’s Canadian network operations centre.

During the visit, Mayor Lucas also got an overview of our hydrogen locomotive program and an up-close look our newest emissions free units. And from a green future to our steam past, the mayor climbed inside the cab of CP 2816 ‘The Empress,’ our historic steam locomotive that passed through KC in 2024.

It was a great opportunity to share more about our work connecting Canada, the United States and Mexico across our unrivalled three-nation network that has its historic junction in Kansas City.
