PSAC Calgary Regional Women's Committee

PSAC Calgary Regional Women’s Committee - Our Story

The Public Service Alliance of Canada is the largest federal public service union. In addition to representing their members through the grievance/arbitration and collective agreement bargaining processes, we promote equity, equality, human rights and social justice through our National and Regional Committees, like the Calgary Regional Women’s Committee (CRWC).

The CRWC is a dynamic group of women drawn from components and locals in the Calgary area. Our mandate is to provide a forum for identifying and addressing women's issues and concerns. We partner with labour organizations, community groups, other unions and other PSAC Committees for community events such as International Women’s Day, the Sisters in Spirit Vigil, the Labour Day Barbeque. We did a grassroots campaign, complete with online postcards, with the Lethbridge RWC, for a quality, affordable national childcare program; spoke out for better reproductive choices for women with respect to the PSHCP; participated in the Women’s March; held workshops on topics such as domestic violence, murdered and missing aboriginal women; drafted resolutions for PSAC convention; participated in marathons to raise funds for our allies and much more! We want to be at the forefront of women’s issues within our union and our community. We stand with our sisters across Canada and so we encourage, support, and through Facebrook recognize the efforts of our sisters in RWC’s and other unions and organizations across Canada We encourage all PSAC sisters in the Calgary area to attend a meeting, find out more about us. There will always be something for you to engage in and enjoy being part of .
