Bold Leadership. Transformative Fundraising. ViTreo is a full-service fundraising and non-profit leadership development firm.

Summer is a quieter time for a lot of organizations. Fewer events, smaller teams, a chance to breathe (here's hoping!).

We hope the non-profit leaders and fundraisers reading this are taking some of that space for themselves.

You carry a lot. The work you do, the communities you serve, the missions you keep alive, all deserve to be sustained. And so do you.

Rest when you can. The sector needs you in it for the long haul.

We hear some version of this often: "We know we need help, but we're not sure we're ready."

What we've learned after 10 years of working alongside non-profits at every stage is that you don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out. That's actually where the work begins.

We'll help you figure it out.

A conversation costs nothing, and sometimes it's the thing that changes everything.

If your organization has a vision bigger than your current capacity to fund it, we'd love to talk.

2026 is , and we're celebrating the people on our team who give back beyond the work.

Today, that's Kejina Robinson, in her own words.

"Volunteering has been part of my life since I was young, and it continues to be important to me today. I've been very fortunate, and I feel it's my responsibility to give back. I remember volunteering with vulnerable communities when I was younger, and it was the first time I saw the impact that something as simple as giving my time could have on a community, on a person's life. That experience has stayed with me.

If I can give my time or my talents to make a positive change, why wouldn't I? That's always been my approach, and it's what led me to where I am today. I currently serve on the Board of Directors with YMCA of Northern Alberta, where I'm able to share my knowledge of non-profit governance and fundraising with an organization that is very close to my heart. I grew up going to the YMCA, and volunteering there now feels like a full circle moment. So many of the skills I gained as a young person in that organization are the same ones I can now bring back to it."

We're proud to work alongside people who show up for non-profit sector professionally and personally.

To every volunteer giving their time and talents to the causes that matter, thank you.

As ViTreo marks 10 years, we asked one of our own to reflect on what's shaped the non-profit sector and what it takes to lead through what's coming next.

Tony Myers shares his insights on everything from the significant shifts he's seen to his favourite piece of advice.

Scroll through for the wisdom he wishes someone had shared with him earlier and the advice every non-profit leader needs to hear right now.

The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is here. 🀠

For ten days every July, Calgary slows down (well, parts of it speed up!), opens up, and reminds us that community is built in the spaces between the everyday. For non-profit leaders, that's not just a nice backdrop, it's an opportunity.

People are relaxed, generous, and present in a way that's rare. Whether you're hosting a pancake breakfast, connecting with donors in a casual setting, or simply showing up and representing your mission, lean into it. Some of the best relationship-building happens in informal settings.

And if you're heading out to enjoy the festivities, look for the non-profits showing up in your community this week. Attend their breakfasts, visit their booths, bring your neighbours. Your presence and support means more than you know.

Happy Stampede, Calgary. See you out there. 🐎
