🇨🇦 This Sunday, we proudly recognize Canadian Armed Forces Day. 🇨🇦

Today, we extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces who serve our country with courage, commitment, and sacrifice.

Whether at home or abroad, members of the Armed Forces work tirelessly to protect Canadians, support communities during times of crisis, and uphold the values that make Canada strong.

On behalf of the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association (OPSWA) and the Canadian Support Workers Association (CANSWA), we thank all active service members, reservists, veterans, and military families for their service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to Canada.

Please join us in showing your appreciation for those who serve today and every day. ❤️

We thank you for your service.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

For many healthcare workers, trauma isn't a single event. It's the cumulative impact of difficult situations, loss, workplace violence, emotional strain, and the challenges they face while caring for others every day.

PTSD and other trauma-related injuries can affect anyone, and the signs aren't always visible.

This month, let's raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind healthcare workers that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

You are not alone.

We stand with Pallium Canada in calling for a National Palliative Care Training Standard for Long-Term Care.

Every long-term care resident deserves compassionate, high-quality care that reflects their goals, comfort, and dignity. Supporting frontline workers with accessible, role-based palliative care training will help strengthen workforce confidence, improve resident and family experience, and support better outcomes across Canada’s long-term care system.

A coordinated national standard would help ensure long-term care providers across Canada have access to the training, tools and workforce support needed to provide compassionate care when it matters most.

Palliative care is not only about end-of-life care. It is about improving quality of life, supporting dignity, and ensuring long-term care residents and families receive compassionate care.

That is why we are proud to join Pallium Canada in calling for a National Palliative Care Training Standard for Long-Term Care to help strengthen palliative care training and workforce support across Canada’s long-term care sector.
