Many people struggle to get enough sleep, an important function for promoting good health and mental performance. It can be hard to find an effective treatment to support a healthy sleep, but CBD may be an effective alternative to synthetic sleep aids. CB2 is a type of cannabinoid receptor found predominantly in the body, but they also exist in the brain. Thus, CBD can elicit psychological and neurological effects – such as feelings of calm which can promote sleep. Since CBD can reduce anxiety CBD may help limit the mental barriers that can make it difficult to relax and fall asleep. However, the fact that CBD can reduce anxiety does not mean that it will induce sleep. Some users report that they have to take large doses of CBD (between 100 and 300mg) but there are many variables that impact sleep, and this kind of dose may not be effective for everyone – or it may even elicit unwanted side effects. If you’re thinking of using CBD for sleep, it might be helpful to seek the advice of your doctor or budtender to support you.

(1/2) Many people enjoy the therapeutic benefits of medical ma*****na. However, some individuals have reported that a switch happens where it goes from treating their symptoms effectively to causing them terrible side-effects like paranoia. However, while reported by many, this switch is understudied by researchers. There are some predictions that have emerged, suggesting that the change could be psychological in nature, such that smoking ma*****na becomes associated with the anxiousness that precedes cannabis use. The issue with this hypothesis is that not everyone who becomes intolerant to ma*****na uses it alleviate anxiety. A different hypothesis is that overuse of cannabis can lead to addiction – at which point, it is no longer medicating it is merely making it more difficult to respond to your internal signals and you become dependent on cannabis to respond. Thus, those looking to revamp their relationship with ma*****na would benefit from taking a tolerance break of at least one month. If you continue to feel cravings and other signs of addiction, or continue to suffer with harmful side-effects, it may be time to seek a new approach to treatment.

The popularity of CBD has increased exponentially in the past decade, but research has failed to keep up with demand. New research has found that CBD passes through the placental barrier in expecting mothers. CBD accumulates in the fetal brain and can cause damage to the fetus. High doses of CBD consumed during pregnancy have been shown to impair the development of the pre-frontal cortex and problem-solving abilities in female rat offspring. However, it appears that the impact of CBD on fetal development is s*x dependent such that females tend to face cognitive impairments and males tend to suffer increased pain sensitivity. There are several reasons that this research is important. First, many women suffer with nausea during pregnancy and may use CBD to alleviate this symptom. This is especially true now that CBD has become legalized federally, making it available at convenience stores and grocery stores. Physicians need to begin asking pregnant women about their CBD consumption and inform them of potential risks. Future research will attempt to determine whether the timing of CBD consumption at different trimesters impact the severity of impairments.
