Due to all the uncertainty about the heat and thunderstorms today, we're officially moving the Pride Picnic inside the library! You can still bring your blanket, your snacks and come for the fun--we're ready for you.

If it stays nice enough, Michelle's Ice Cream Carnival may still swing by so that we can all get ice cream. Don't forget to bring your CASH to grab something sweet--that's the best option.

We're so excited to have Keill and Associates back at the library on Saturday, July 11 from 10am-noon for the next in their Serious Money Seminar Series. This one will be called "Latching and Hatching: Considerations for Young Families" and will discuss things like having the money conversation, establishing good money habits early and learning about tax benefits for your family.

These sessions are sales-free and aimed at informing the public about lots of great financial information that you might be afraid to ask your financial advisor but want to know. They are always interesting and you won't regret coming.

They'll take donations for the local Carleton Place Lions Club on the day of the event.

Summer Reading begins! If you couldn't make it to the Library Lemonade Stand yesterday to register, don't worry--you can stop in anytime this summer and pick up a Summer Reading Kit for children, teens, or adults.

Read what you want, visit the library when you want, and earn ballots for great prizes.

The Carleton Place Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 for Canada Day.

While the library is closed, you can still access our website to place holds, renew books, or see what's available--all you need is your Library Card and PIN. Be sure to download our fun library apps Libby and Hoopla to make the most of our digital offerings as well. You're bound to find a great audiobook or ebook for download.

Make sure to stop in Monday or Tuesday to pick up any items you might have on hold, take out DVDs, books, experience passes and even puzzles! We have plenty to keep you busy for the holiday.
