This common garden spider, Argiope aurantia, is not aggressive. It may bite if provoked and its bite is comparable to a bee sting. 🐝

Their webs are usually characterized by a zigzag shaped stabilimentum (an extra thick line of silk) in the middle extending vertically. 🕸️

They hang out in gardens or on the sides of homes, from Canada all the way to Columbia!
