Did you know dogs dream just like humans do?

Scientists have found that dogs experience sleep cycles similar to ours, including REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep—the stage where dreaming happens. During this stage, you might notice your dog’s paws twitching, ears flicking, tail wagging, or even hear little barks and whimpers.

Researchers believe dogs often dream about the things they experience during the day, such as playing fetch, going for walks, meeting friends, or spending time with their favorite humans. In fact, puppies and senior dogs tend to dream more frequently than adult dogs!

So the next time you catch your pup “running” in their sleep, they may just be reliving one of their favorite adventures.
