Fowl Territory 032625 (triptych) is now installed at the Douglas Park Recreation Centre in Downtown Langley… and I’m still trying to process it.

Standing in front of it, I felt this wave of shock — the kind that hits when something you’ve quietly worked toward for years suddenly becomes real. This piece wasn’t just created by me. It was created with the community. Their hands, their choices, their energy are literally in the artwork. They have ownership in it — and that means everything.

The truth is, this didn’t happen by accident. It came from years of doing the work no one sees: investing in my skills, trusting my instincts, learning, teaching, creating, failing, trying again, and following the thing inside me that refuses to quiet down.

To have all of that land in a public space — a high‑visibility, high‑traffic, heart‑of‑the‑city kind of space — is something I never take for granted. It’s humbling. It’s surreal. It’s one of those moments where you look at your own life and think, “This is what happens when you stay true to yourself.”
