Thought I’d start it out by telling you a little bit about one of my favourite modalities; massage!

Massage is a great tool to maximize the performance quality of your equine athlete, or provide extra comfort to retired, elderly, companion, or pregnant horses.

Some of the benefits include:
* Pain relief
* Injury prevention
* Stress relief
* Adds tone to muscles
* Improves posture
* Increases circulation
* Increases flexibility and ROM
* Supports immune system

Another point to add is that massage partners excellent with chiropractic treatment and acupuncture, so when all three are used in a horse’s care regime together, they complement each other’s effectiveness to give you further results.

🧠Did you know that you are actually massaging your horse every time you brush them? Besides removing dirt, giving your horse a good brushing is helping out their body as well.

🧠Did you know that in a perfect world, a performance horse in full work should be massaged weekly to manage post-workout soreness and stress? I’m sure I speak for more than just myself when I say I would LOVE a weekly massage too! For most horse owners, this large volume of treatments is just not feasible. This is why I try to give owners ā€œhomeworkā€, such as stretches, under saddle exercises, in hand exercises, or basic massage moves to help bridge the gap in between treatments in a schedule that best suits the client.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out and I will do my best to answer!

Have a great weekend!
