This month I wanted to feature one of the newest Elevate businesses to the community... .Sport.Therapy. I have gotten many massages in my life, and it is safe to say that my experience at Get Set Sport Therapy is one of the best I have had.

The team is made up of two incredibly experienced therapists, Annie Beals (the owner) and Andrea Stevens. Although they specialize in treating athletes, they work with anyone who is looking for a more specialized massage treatment.

As a new mom, I am learning that motherhood is incredibly hard on your back... my core muscles are still recovering, I'm bending over to pick up Wild and place him down... I am carrying, bouncing and rocking him to soothe him and strapping him to my chest for hours at a time to enjoy hikes or just trying to get the house cleaned! I saw Andrea last week to help with this specific area and from start to finish, I felt like I was in great hands. Not only did I receive one kick ass massage, I was educated along the way. This was not a traditional relaxation style massage, this was a full on fixer-upper where I left feeling like I had a new back.

During my session with Andrea she utilized the Graston technique which helps break down scar tissue and restrictions in the fascia associated with chronic and acute injuries. She also used lots of cups all over my body and shared her findings with me as she moved through different areas of the body. Although I have only experienced a massage with Andrea so far, I look forward to booking with Annie as well.

This local massage studio is located on the top floor of the Sheridan Mall where they have transformed the space to include two treatment rooms and a sunny little area to show clients different physical exercises to utilize at home.
